We are hiring for a Bookfair Logistics and Delivery Position and for an Event Staff position. If you’re interested in taking on some hours for each position we’re happy to consider combining them as well.

Job Title: BOOKFAIR LOGISTICS AND DELIVERY POSITION
Description: BookPeople Bookfairs is now accepting applications for a logistics and delivery position in our growing school bookfair department. We are accepting either full time or part time applications. Core responsibilities will include receiving books, scanning books in and out for bookfair events, delivering books to schools and picking them up, and processing returns to publishers.
Ideal applicant should be organized, be comfortable lifting boxes, and be able to work autonomously.
We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail and, for full time applicants, an interest in growing into more responsibility over time.
- Moderate to heavy lifting is required.
- Applicants need to be able to drive a 10-foot truck for book deliveries.
- Applicants need access to a car to get to and from schools as needed.
- Position will operate out of BookPeople’s warehouse space on Airport Blvd.
- As always, mileage will be reimbursed for personal vehicle use.
Location: BookPeople warehouse, 812 Airport Blvd
Days/Hours Needed: Weekdays during business hours. Some early morning availability may be requested to coordinate with school hours.

Job Title: Event Host
Description: This is a part time position that is predominantly evenings and weekends, with about 8-12 hours/week scheduled and the opportunity to pick up more as needed.
The job of event staff is to facilitate our author events, including setting up chairs and a/v equipment, moving furniture, hosting authors, and running book signings.
This position also includes off-site work for large, ticketed events during assigned times and assisting with more events as available, including large festivals like Texas Book Festival, Texas Teen Book Festival, Austin Food & Wine, & more.
Applicants must be able to lift boxes of books and chairs and be comfortable introducing authors in front of an audience.
Because of the number of offsite events, candidates should have access to personal transportation. As always, mileage will be reimbursed for personal vehicle use.
Location: BookPeople store and off-site locations as necessary
Days/Hours Needed: Monday evenings, Thursday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings (this will be split between multiple staff)
