Zoom has afforded BookPeople ample opportunity to host authors we might not’ve been able to host in the before times. Like our guest from a few weeks back, Meg Mason, who tuned in allll the way from Australia to talk about her book. Learn more about her US debut when you press play!
“Hilarious, haunting, and utterly captivating.” That’s what local author Amanda Eyre Ward had to say about Meg Mason’s US debut, Sorrow and Bliss, adding that “[Mason’s] humor is as arch and wise as the best work of Joan Didion and Rachel Cusk, yet completely original.” We had the pleasure of hosting Mason, who was stationed halfway ’round the world when our event went live (Oh, the wonders of technology!), and fellow novelist Laura Zigman for an infectiously wry conversation about the book, unlikable narrators, and “touring” during a pandemic.
You can re-watch their conversation now on our Facebook page. And be sure to grab your own copy of Sorrow and Bliss (if you haven’t already) from BookPeople.
More virtual events like this one can be found on BookPeople’s Facebook page. If Facebook isn’t your thing, that’s okay—they are available for viewing without an account!
