This week on The BookPeople Podcast we have a very special episode with debut author Kimberly King Parsons! A Texas native, the stories featured in Parsons’s collection center mostly on life in the oft-neglected Panhandle, they are imbued with that strange, scrappy Lone Star attitude and erupt off the page.
Black Light is also a bookseller favorite. Our adult book buyer Consuelo was over the moon about it, saying, “Parsons drew up memories that I thought I had long lost, but even if I didn’t have this connection to her stories, her characters each have their own form of vulnerability that makes them so easy to empathize with. She’s created something raw and so beautifully human.”
Listen here on Soundcloud for the awesome conversation Parsons had with T. Kira Madden at the store and be sure to check out future and past episodes for all of the events you might have missed out on or just want to replay for fun!
Signed copies of Black Light and T. Kira Madden’s Long Live the Tribe of Fatherless Girls are available for purchase now online and in-store.
