Butterin’ our toast with Kate DiCamillo & Chris Van Dusen! – Wed, April 16 @ 6:30 PM


Kate DiCamillo and Chris Van Dusen, the creators of beloved Mercy Watson series, will be here to celebrate the release of A Piglet Named Mercy. In this gorgeous picture book, we get to learn the Mercy origin story: how she came to live with the Watsons– and fall in love with delicious buttered toast! Independent Bookstore Day! – Sat, April 27 starting at 10:30 AM

IndieDayAll across the country, independent bookstores are celebrating their independence with YOU, our loyal customers! We are so honored to be part of Austin’s community, and to kick off the day we are hosting local author and illustrator Lori Otto Samocha and Lauri Johnston for a special reading of their book, W is for Weird: An Austin Alphabet. Join us starting at 10:30 AM and visit us throughout the day as part of the Austin Bookstore Crawl and for our cool Indie Bookstore Day goodies!

Enter our high-five contest with Adam Rubin! – Mon, April 29 @ 4 PM

In order to celebrate the release of his new book, High Five! we’ll be hosting a signing April 29th– come get your book signed and snag a delicious taco before they’re gone!




The second annual 5 Book Dive Summer Reading Splash!
May 18, 2019 from 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM @ AISD Performing Arts Center
Festival focused on grades 3-6, but all ages are welcome!


We have a day full of fun author panels, mythology games, interactive sessions, and signings with a bunch of your favorite kid lit authors! Our keynote speakers are David Bowles and Adam Gidwitz, who will be telling us all about The Chupacabras of the RΓ­o Grande! Check out the full author lineup here!
