Join us and journalist-turned culinary historian Nola McKey on a Texas journey as she explores the state’s foodways through heirloom recipes. She will be in our store Sunday, June 26 at 3PM to share with us From Tea Cakes to Tamales: Third-Generation Texas Recipes as well as some snacks found in the book!
In this collection, there are more than 100 heirloom Texas recipes, each representing at least three generations, and are still cherished today. The mix emphasizes ethnic diversity and includes family stories and photographs of the ancestor cooks, plus watercolor illustrations and tips for preserving recipes as culinary legacies.
