Consuelo is a book buyer (professionally!) and therefore the envy of bibliophiles everywhere. Here, she fills us in on the latest literary news.
It’s the bicentennial of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and with it brings lots of fanfare and new editions, including this beautiful new Penguin Classics cover for the 1818 edition of Frankenstein (pictured above). Gorgeous!
The Shape of Water won the “Best Picture” Oscar, and the book has just hit the shelves, so you can dive even deeper into this haunting romance.
I just got done buying for the upcoming spring/summer seasons, and I have a couple favorites that stood out due to their quirkiness (both are available for pre-order). Isabella Rossellini has a book coming out March 13 called My Chickens and I. It is what you think it is! And due out in June is Dungeons and Workouts — a fitness book geared for geeks! It takes aspects that gamers love (levels ups, side quests, and bosses) and molds an exercise regimen around them. Need I say more?
