
We are looking for some part time event staff to help facilitate the author events we do at schools around Austin during the fall 2016 season. Ideal candidates are book enthusiasts with some knowledge of children’s literature and an interest in meeting some of kid lit’s most talented stars. You will be BookPeople’s ambassador to these authors, and it will be your job to help make them feel welcome in Austin!
The Fall school event season runs from September through November, and shifts will be M-F, morning or afternoon (or both) with flexibility based on your schedule, totaling between 12 and 36 hours in a week, depending on your availability.
Candidates must have a car to use for deliveries and be able to lift boxes of books.
Tasks include:
– author management
– coordinating onsite with librarians and troubleshooting problems
– book delivery to and pickup from schools around Austin
– reconciling book totals and sales after events are completed
