Mayor Lee Leffingwell, the Austin Public Library Friends Foundation, and the Austin Public Library have announced this year’s selection for The Mayor’s Book Club: Monday, Monday by acclaimed Austin author Elizabeth Crook.
A chilling piece of Austin history, Monday, Monday follows three students caught up in the UT tower shooting: Shelly, who leaves her math class and walks directly into the path of the bullets; and two cousins, Wyatt and Jack, who heroically rush from their classrooms to help the victims.
We were lucky enough to have Elizabeth here for an event recently, where we celebrated her new book, which was the Statesman Selects Pick for April, with a huge home town crowd. A big congratulations to Elizabeth for this latest honor!
More information regarding the kick-off event on May 27th and The Mayor’s Book Club can be found here.
Signed copies of Monday, Monday are available on our shelves at BookPeople and via bookpeople.com while they last!
