Delightful Reading About Departed Souls

The Dirty Streets of Heaven by Tad Williams

Tad William’s latest piece of work, The Dirty Streets of Heaven, is fantastic! If you’re a lover of urban fantasy, this book will knock your socks off. Mystery, a main character who is a humorous jerk, and an epic ongoing battle between Heaven and the minions of Hell are all laced up quite nicely in this first novel of the Bobby Dollar series.

Set in modern day, The Dirty Streets of Heaven centers around Bobby Dollar, an angel advocate for recently departed souls. Similar to the inner workings of a courtroom, Dollar is present on behalf of Heaven to argue that the departed’s soul be taken to Heaven, while an advocate from Hell argues why the soul should be taken to Hell. The judgement of the soul is handled by a high angel and Heaven and Hell’s advocates forgive or condemn the souls as much as possible to win them.

Things do not bode well when Bobby Dollar shows up for a case and the recently departed’s soul has gone missing, something that has never occurred before. Unable to trust his angel superiors or, for that matter, his fellow angel advocates, Bobby is thrown into a heart pounding race for the truth. With a fascinating, well developed cast of characters and an edge-of-your-seat story, The Dirty Streets of Heaven is a delightful read. I cannot wait for more books in the series!
