Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
“I’m just about halfway through. It’s very beautifuly written even though the subject matter is quite uncomfortable. You know what I mean. It’s a book that for some reason I can’t put down even though I really want to put it down.”

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray
“Perfect for teens and adults looking for a great summer read. It’s Lost meets the Miss America pageant when a plane full of beauty queens goes down on a desert island and it’s every Teen Dream contestant for herself. Wickedly smart, absolutely hilarious and surprisingly relatable.”

The Captured: A True Story of Abduction by Indians on the Texas Frontier by Scott Zesch
“I’m thirty pages in. It’s about three white pioneers captured by Commanches and who are then recaptured by their families ten years later, but they don’t want to go back. So far it’s really good.”

Nick – The Magician King by Lev Grossman
(This book goes on sale August 9th.)
“This is the sequel to The Magicians. I’m liking it so far. He’s actually included a lot more direct pop culture refernces int his one than he did in the last one and I’m not so sure how I feel about that, but otherwise the writing style’s good and it reveals a lot of things that were sort of hinted at in the first book. It’s been fun jumping back and referencing the first one. It’s as well-written as The Magicians and just as good, if not better, because there’s not all the character set-up to deal with.”
