Simon.
Simon Pegg.
Simon Pegg will be HERE at BOOKPEOPLE in TEN (10) DAYS!!!
Let The Countdown Begin!
Wednesday, June 15th, 7p – SIMON PEGG will speak and sign copies of his new book, Nerd Do Well: A Small Boy’s Journey to Becoming a Big Kid, right here at BookPeople. We are one of three stops Pegg is making on the US tour for this book. That’s right – he’ll be in New York, Los Angeles, right here in Austin and that’ s it. In other words, this is a BIG DEAL and we are VERY EXCITED (and honored) to be hosting this event.
How does this whole Pegg event thing work? Here’s the low down:
*The speaking portion of this event is free and open to the public. We are expecting a LOT of people, so prepare for a crowd.
*If you would like to have a book signed at this event, you must purchase a copy of Nerd Do Well from BookPeople. When you purchase your copy of the book, you will be given a wristband. This wristband entitles you and one (1) guest to a spot in the signing line.
*We will begin handing out wristbands on Thursday, June 9th when Nerd Do Well goes on sale. Our doors open at 9am.
*Specific signing guidelines are available on our website. We’re anticipating an awesome crowd for Pegg, so be advised that we have to be strict about some things – no posed photos, no memorabilia during the signing.
What else? We’re counting down to the biggest day of our lives (or at least this summer) here on the blog. Watch for a contest to win a copy of Nerd Do Well and the first spot in the signing line, an exclusive Q&A with the man himself, and more.
Are you ready? Ten days of Peggmania starts…..NOW!

So when you say “no memorabilia,” does that mean I can’t bring along something like say the DVD Insert from my copy of Spaced and have him sign it? The book is the only thing he will sign at this event?
Memorabilia means anything other than the book, so yes, that includes the insert. We’re expecting a huge crowd at this event and will only have time to sign books. I know it seems like a signature takes no time at all, but when you add up the number of times he’ll have to sign his name, we’re talking HOURS, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate memorabilia.
Can i still purchase a book and get a wrist band??? WIll be in austin on wed …
Yes, absolutely! We have plenty of books and wristbands for everyone. You can come down to the store on Friday and buy your book and get your wristband.
