Dan’s the Man

One of our beloved assistant manger’s, Dan Nugent, was recently spotlighted in the Austin American-Statesman.  Check out the lovely article, and give Dan a high-five the next time you’re in the store.

  1. I’m loving the pic and article of my old friend, Dan Nugent. Back in the day, in Western Oklahoma, Dan and I were childhood friends. We were about the same age, and he was the one who taught me to swim. Of course, he was the one who shoved me off a boat dock into the water, but dangnabit, I swam! When we were teens, we used to get this hobo friend of ours to buy us whiskey. We would drive to the nearby reservation and sell it to the American Indians there for a profit. Dan used his money to buy a truckload of balsa wood, and built himself a life-size glider, which he launched from a local radio station tower, himself as a passenger, and glided himself into the swamps of Louisiana. And the rest is history! Congratulations, my old hairy friend!
