This panel sounds like everything we could ever want! Featuring TTBF 2018 author L.L. Confronting Injustice: New YA About Major Issues
12:30 – YA HQ Tent
Come listen to authors Kekla Magoon, Rafi Mittlefehldt, and Mitali Perkins talk about social change and their characters, who are leading the way and will inspire some action.

Ruta Sepetys
11 AM – Kirkus Reviews Tent
We are huge fans of historical fiction author Ruta Sepetys, who will be here this weekend to tell us all about Fountains of Silence. This new book takes place in late 50s Madrid under the Franco dictatorship… full of romance, drama, and history!
Wise Warriors & Epic Adventures
12:30 – YA HQ Tent
BookPeople Art Director Tomoko is specifically looking forward to this amazing panel, featuring YA authors Tochi Onyebuchi, Lilliam Rivera, and Sherry Thomas. If you love tales of vengeance and justice, girl gangs and epic Mulan retellings, you can’t miss this! Dealing in Dreams was also a Teen Press Corps Buzz Book this year, so we know they’re excited, too!
Rainbow Rowell & Mariko TamakiÂ
3:15 PM – Kirkus Reviews Tent
Two of our all-time favorites IN THE SAME PLACE? Can you believe?! Don’t miss the guidelines below:
- Wristbands are required for the signing and are available with the purchase of Wayward Son or one of Rowell’s other titles from the Main Book Sales Tent at the Festival.
- Rowell will sign two books per person with a wristband. At least one of those books must be purchased from the Main Book Sales Tent at the Festival.
- She will personalize one of those books.
- Due to time constraints, spots in the signing line are limited. Thank you for your cooperation with all event guidelines.
& soooooo much more! Check out all the panels and signings, and swing by the sales tents to say hi to your friendly neighborhood BookPeople! We’ll be the one slingin’ books…
