It’s YA lucky day! It’s Teen Thursday!

We interrupt your regular Teen Thursday programming to bring you this Texas Teen Book Festival 2015 special edition! TTBF15 is THIS SATURDAY!!!! Here’s a wrap up of all the panels, authors, and other things you need to know about the fest. See you there!

#TTBF15 Keynote & Closing Speakers, and the GAME SHOW!

The keynote speaker is Sonia Manzano, best known for her long-time role as “Maria” on Sesame Street. Sonia, will be speaking about her new book Becoming Maria: Love & Chaos in the South Bronx. Read more about Sonia.

The day closes with David Levithan & Libba Bray! What a dynamic duo. David and Libba will be talking about their new books, Another Day and Lair of Dreams, respectively. Read more about David & Libba.

The game show portion of the festival is going to be epic. It’s a Star Wars Throw Down with our own Topher Bradfield as emcee, and authors Pierce Brown, Jenny Han, Claudia Gray, Gareth Hinds, Aaron Hartzler, and Cindy Pon will be putting their Star Wars cred on the line. Read more about this.

Freshman Fifteens! – This program featuring all debut authors will take place twice during the festival. Come hear from these new authors – Jenn Marie Thorne (The Wrong Side of Right), Chandler Baker (Alive), Jenny Martin (Tracked), Kim Savage (After the Woods), and Virginia Boecker (The Witch Hunter). If you like writing, you won’t want to miss the two Badgerdog writing workshops. One will focus on poetry and the other on fiction.

#TTBF15 Autographing Sessions & Book Sales!

You may bring 3 personal copies to sign for every 1 title purchased at the festival. CASH, CHECKS (made out to BookPeople), and CREDIT CARDS will be accepted. HERE is the complete list of books that are available through our partner BookPeople. Book sales will begin at 8:30am in the gym and continue all day.

Authors will be signing during specific autographing sessions. Be sure to check the schedule to see which authors are signing when – you don’t want to miss someone!

Texas Teen Book Festival (formerly the Austin Teen Book Festival) happens on Saturday, September 26, 2015 on the campus of St. Edward’s University. This event – and parking – is free and open to the public.
