Happy Friday! We’re very excited to announce an event with founding member of Sonic Youth, Kim Gordon. Gordon will appear in conversation with Terry Lickona, Executive Producer of Austin City Limits, here at BookPeople on Friday, February 27 at 7pm. They’ll discuss Gordon’s new memoir, Girl in a Band.
The speaking portion of this event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required for the signing and are now available in-store and via bookpeople.com. Tickets grant entry to the signing line and may be exchanged at the signing table for a copy of the book the day of the event.
In Girl in a Band, Gordon tells, “…the story of her family, growing up in California in the ’60s and ’70s, her life in visual art, her move to New York City, the men in her life, her marriage, her relationship with her daughter, her music, and her band.” (Description courtesy of Dey Street Books.) We have some MAJOR Sonic Youth fans on staff. We are beyond excited to welcome Gordon. This is big, y’all.
If you cannot attend the event, we are also taking orders for signed, personalized copies of the book. We ship worldwide. There’s no limit to the number of signed books one person can order, so if you have Sonic Youth fans in your family, now’s the time to get them the best birthday/Christmas/I Love You gift OF THEIR LIVES.
