The fall books have started to arrive on the shelves in BookKids, and it’s another great week for new children’s books! We are getting so many new and great books, that it’s hard to keep up. It’s also very exciting.
Over the course of the next several weeks, we will be sharing that excitement and rounding up many of the new kids books that hit our shelves during the fall publishing rush. As always, we’ll continue to post pictures of new releases on the store’s Instagram. Head over to our Teen Press Corps blog for the fall teen releases.
Here is a selection of what has arrived on our shelves in the two weeks since our last installment.
Hello, I’m Johnny Cash by G. Neri, illustrated by A.G. Ford
“It’s never too early to introduce your child to the Man in Black, complete with gorgeous paintings of the South and Cash’s childhood.”
“Keith’s autobiography is a bit racy, so this tale of Keith’s grandfather and his first guitar is a much better choice for the kids.”
Firebird by Misty Copeland, illustrated by Christopher Myers
“Misty Copeland is one of my favorite ballerinas, and this retelling of her most famous role is gorgeous! I love the colors and how creative it is!”
The Magisterium, Book One: The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
This book is just plain fun. I haven’t enjoying discovering a new magical world since reading the first Harry Potter book. Fun characters, fun premise, and fun magic!
Animalium by Katie Scott and Jenny Broom
This book is incredible. I love the details, scope, and the presentation of the gorgeous, varied, and amazing animal kingdom. This is a perfect gift for animal lovers, zoologists, or anyone who appreciates the wonder of the natural world.
Egg & Spoon by Gregory Maguire
An epic tale of adventure, Egg & Spoon is equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. It’s a joyous celebration of folklore, language, whimsy, and friendship.
As if all these great choices weren’t enough, here are some more great new books!
