Wearing a fantastic Washington Redshirts tee, John Scalzi gave a rousing and hilarious reading promoting his latest novel LOCK IN. His talk ranged from working at AOL in the 90s to how he’s able to use his experience in the marketing industry for his novels. It was great to hear about his upcoming projects like the OLD MAN WAR television show and an interactive graphic novel that ties into a video game that he wrote the story for. I laughed! I cried! And hearing him read an excerpt from his forthcoming sequel to Human Division was a reward in and of itself.
This was by far the most entertaining event I’ve attended since Cory Doctorow rocked my world and dropped some science last year.
