Citizens of BookPeople Nation (that’s you!) we are pleased to announce a special day of fun, frivolity and bookish jubilation! Inspired by the success of California Bookstore Day, we here at BookPeople are devoting an entire day to celebrating everything we love about the wonderful world of books. This special day is ONLY happening at BookPeople, nowhere else in the country!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 16, the first ever National Bookstore Day for the BookPeople Nation! (Only at BookPeople.)
We have many festivities planned! Bring the kids down for a Very, VERY Special Storytime! We’ll unveil the official BookPeople 100, a compilation of our booksellers’ best loved books of all time! We’ll test your lit wits with Literary Trivia! Awaken your inner poet with a Magnetic Poetry-A-Thon! Give you a sneak peek of new books coming out this Fall! Announce our Big Fall Author Event Line-Up! Introduce you to fabulous authors! Reveal the truth behind our mysterious FOURTH FLOOR! And have FUN!
We’re also taking this opportunity to say THANK YOU for your continued support of your local independent bookstore with tons of give-aways, cake, champagne and even….FREE BOOKS!
For a full schedule of the day’s events & activities, visit bookpeople.com.
Come one! Come all! Let us dance and sing (quietly, some of us may be reading) on this, the first ever National Bookstore Day for the BookPeople Nation!*
*Only at BookPeople
Why Are We Making Such a Fuss On This Randomly Selected Day?
WHY NOT? (This is Austin, do we really need an excuse to party?)
But okay, here it is: We love books. And we love you for loving books as much as we do and for continuing to support BookPeople as your local independent bookstore, year after year. We are gearing up for an incredible Fall full of fabulous new books and author events that are going to knock the socks right off your feet (seriously, y’all, even we can’t believe what we have on deck). Before we launch into the whirlwind of what’s to come, we want to throw up our hands and say THANK YOU for building a nation of book lovers right here in Austin.
Now let’s cut that cake.
The look on Ansley’s face, for the win.
I envy your celebration and will shop locally up here in Maine…what a wonderful idea and tribute to us silly book fanatics!
Chocolate pastry and fresh bound paper, now with extralicious thought.
