New Pixies Video – Josh Frank Coming to BookPeople!

Josh Frank, author, director and founder of Austin’s Blue Starlite Drive-in, has released a brand new video for “Greens and Blues”, a song featured on the Pixies current collection of new material, EP-2. The EP is the second in a series of releases from the recently re-formed band.

We’re taking note of the big announcement not only because Frank is an Austinite and we love Blue Starlite, but because the release comes after he collaborated with Pixies frontman Black Francis for an upcoming illustrated novel about the first narrative pornographic film set in Paris in the early 1900’s, The Good Inn.

We’re hosting Josh Frank and Steven Appleby, who illustrated the book, here at BookPeople to talk about The Good Inn on Monday, April 14 at 7pm. 

Frank is preparing an exciting event that will include a short “table reading” with actors reading the “character’s” lines and a multi-media display of many of the book’s drawings. This event will include an authorized exclusive listening party of a few unreleased Black Francis demo songs, written as a song cycle soundtrack by Francis and other members of the Pixies, that served as an inspiration for the book. These songs will NOT be available to hear at any other time other than at these exclusive reading and listening events.
