I love Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and would love to see them perform! I’m also a new (huge) fan of the opening act, Valerie June! I’m a fan because Sharon Jones brings a high-energy show to my very favorite type of music (though she’s also pretty genre-busting, and I love that, too!). I saw them perform at ACL several years ago, but, unfortunately, I was in a spot with pretty bad sound. I’d love to get a second chance!
Why am I a fan? How could you not be? She’s fabulous!
I point people to Sharon’s version of ‘This Land Is Your Land’ – if you don’t like that, you should get your ears checked. Just getting to hear any of the members from The Budos Band and/or Menahan Street Band live is soul-shattering. But Sharon Jones AND The Dap-Kings? Probably the closest any of us will get to seeing the adrenaline-crazed groove of a James Brown show for the next few decades.

I saw them play at Austin City Limits and that show was inexplicably dope! When Sharon Jones brought some dude on stage and serenaded him, that topped everything for ACL that year. I also haven’t had a date in an embarrassing 6 months and it would be REALLY REALLY awesome if I could go so I could have an excuse to bring this girl I like out. I want to travel the world with this girl and one incredible date could set off an awesome chain reaction. (I hope she doesn’t read this)
Had the honor of seeing them live for the first time (in Maryland). I was blown away. Wish I were in TX because I would definitely enter.
I’ve seen live performances on television before and I’m in awe of much Sharon Jones gives if herself in each show. Singing, dancing nonstop, and sweet talking the audience- it’s like she doesn’t want any fan thinking she was just phoning in her performance. You’ve got to want to see that in person.
Because Sharon is old school awesome, but rockin’ like a queen. They must be amazing live.

I love Sharon Jones and have been a fan for years, she has such an amazing and soulful voice. I first saw them perform when I was volunteering at a venue in Central Park in 2008. I would love the opportunity to see her again!!

Sharon Jones and Valerie June are amazing artists. I saw Ms. June last year as part of my birthday celebration and know that she puts on an awesome live show. Seeing Ms. Jones and the Dap Kings is an item on my life list. I love their music and am ready to experience their live show. It would be wonderful to see them in Austin.
I love this woman’s story and the fact that she has made it big on her great talent. I’ve been hearing them on the radio for some time and own a CD which reflects her hard work and talent, and would love to see them perform live.
Sharon has style! That lady has a voice like no other and her dance moves are to die for! Would absolutely love to see her in person! AND at the Moody theater! What a show that’s going to be.

Agree with the earlier comments that Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings live are possibly the most exhilarating and spirited thing you can experience on stage. I’ve been fortunate to see her three time, but would love the chance to see her again to celebrate the news that she is cancer-free. And Valerie June opening?! Can’t get any better.

I love her mix of brass instruments and electric guitar. Their feel is always so up, I can’t sit still even when watching the videos. In addition to that, Wednesday is my ONLY day off during the week! Thank you for this opportunity!

I’m a fan of Sharon Jones for her versatility and her talent! She is so fun!! I first saw her with Phish in Indio, California performing Exile on Main Street!!! I would love to see her again
