Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, the Kane Chronicles and the Heroes of Olympus, announced the series in the New York Times last week.
“Infinity Ring is planned as a seven-book series with six different authors, of which A Mutiny in Time is the first. Dashner, author of The Maze Runner, has outlined the story arc based on a concept developed in-house at Scholastic, and will write the seventh and final volume in addition to the first. (I should mention I worked with Scholastic on The 39 Clues, which was created in roughly the same fashion.) Like The 39 Clues, Infinity Ring provides an opportunity for stealth education, as it plunges readers into the past and encourages them to think about cause and effect. The publisher has also provided a multiplatform experience to support the books, including a Web site with games that allow young readers to pursue their own time-travel adventures.”
