Teen Review: The Relic Master

Have you ever read a new series and been annoyed that it takes a year for each of the new books to come out?  I know I have.

Well, apparently the folks over at Dial (an imprint of Penguin) have also felt this way.  They are putting out Catherine Fisher’s entire new Relic Masters Series this summer.  The first book, The Dark City, came out on Tuesday, and the last book will come out in August.  I for one, can’t wait to read the second book.  And I’m not the only one that likes the series.  Here’s what one of our Teen Reviewers said:

The Dark City, Relic Master #1
By Catherine Fisher

The Relic Master Series’ first title is both a past and futuristic book. It tells the story of a world whose major religious governing power has been broken by an evil organization called the Watch. It is a fast paced book that spikes creative thinking through vague stories of this world’s past and the people who play a part in it. Throughout the book the main characters are plagued by not only physical barriers, but mental, and racial ones as well. The characters are close to home and believable. It is a must read for this summer.

If you are between the ages of 13-18 and are interested in reviewing books for BookPeople, we still have a few spots left in our Not Just Another Teen Book Club.  The teens there review books for our blogs, have special meetings with authors, volunteer at local events like the Austin Teen Book Festival, and of course, meet monthly to discuss teen books. Hop on over to our club’s website for more information.
