Are you a teen?
Are you a teen who likes to read?
Are you a teen who likes to read and would like to review a book for BookPeople?
It’s like this: we have copies of two new teen novels we will give away for FREE to the first two teens (ages 13-18) who volunteer to read them and then write a review for us. You get to keep the copy of the book (but only if you actually write the review) AND we may publish the review here on our blog for the world at large to read.
Good deal? Depends on the books, doesn’t it? Okay, the books are:
The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson
This is the sequel to the New York Times bestseller 13 Little Blue Envelopes. Ginny Blackstone (star of the first book) receives a call from a mysterious (boy) stranger in England who claims to find the backpack she lost the previous summer when she was traveling Europe according to those little blue envelopes her aunt left her before she passed away. There’s one envelope left in the bag, and when Ginny goes to reclaim it, it kicks off a whole new adventure.
Where She Went by Gayle Forman
This one is a sequel to the New York Times bestseller If I Stay. Three years after the devastating accident that separated them, Mia and Adam are living on different coasts – Mia in New York at Juilliard and Adam in L. A. dodging paparazzi as a rock star. When Adam gets stuck by chance in New York, the two reunite for one last night, opening up their hearts to the past, the future, and each other. The story is told from Adam’s perspective.
Now, we’re not looking for some kind of studious book report-type-thing. A couple of paragraphs will do. We want honest, original opinions we can share with our staff, customers and book publishers. If you’re interested, send an email to julie@bookpeople.com and we’ll take it from there.
PS – We’re looking for reviewers who live in the Austin area and would be able to pick up the book from the store.
Dang it. Why do I have to be a 22-year-old in ATX who loves teen lit? This is such a tease.
As posted on FB, Emily’s interested but buried in homework tonight. Can we get her signed up?
I would be interested in being a teen reviewer. I am 18 and am a senior at Dripping Springs HS. I do come into Austin quite often, and shop at Book People. Please let me know what I need to do to become a teen reviewer. Thank you for your time. Tommy
Chris and Tommy – send an email to julie@bookpeople.com and we’ll get things set up. The two books we posted about yesterday have already been claimed, but we have plenty more books that we’d love to have reviewed. Send an email and we’ll take care of things from there.
Thanks so much for responding!
I am 16 yrs.old from India. I am class 12th student and a regular columnist of a daily newspaper. I am an avid reader and would like to be a teen reviewer. How should I proceed.
Hi Ankita – Please send an email to Madeline at kids_blog@bookpeople.com. She’ll set you up with a book to review. Thanks!
I am not a teen, but I still love to read young adult. If you are still looking for reviewers, I’d love to sign up for it. Thanks a bunch!
