Austin Bat Cave is a local non-profit that provides kids and teenagers a place to develop their creative and expository writing skills. Just like the 826 Valencia program in San Francisco, they offer after-school tutoring, writing workshops, book clubs for kids and more. The display is located on our second floor by the info desk in our kids section. Just take a word off the board, take it to a cashier and you’ve done your part. Then you can drop your word into convos all over town, or keep it a secret and write it in your journal…it’s your call.
