With the weekend just a little over a day away now it’s time to celebrate. What better way is there to celebrate than with a new book. This week we’ll be highlighting some YA titles that we have loved and hope you will too. Without further ado here they are!
Ta’NECIA
Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
“This book had me hooked from the first page. “Let me tell you something straight off. This is a love story, but not like any you’ve heard.” Just when you think Jodi Anderson is taking you one way you fall into this dark-fantasy. Things get pretty interesting quickly. The result is an amazing prequel to the classic Peter Pan.
I loved the originality of this story, even though you’re familiar with the characters and you think you may know how it’s going to end. As I read I realized that I didn’t know these characters like I thought I did. I also liked how the story was told through Tinker Bell’s eyes. CLICK HERE to read Ta’Necia’s full review.
WILLA
Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza
“The plotline of MILA 2.0 was action-packed with dramatic scenes back to back! Once I got into the book, I couldn’t stop reading. The discovery of Mila’s true identity pulls you in, and I loved how Debra Driza uncovered Mila’s identity piece by piece. One of my favorite part of the book though, was Mila’s love interest, Hunter. It is so refreshing. He’s funny, kind, and deeply cares about Mila. The best part though is that the story isn’t about Hunter&Mila, but instead it’s about Mila, with a bit of Hunter on the side, but that’s not to say I don’t really want more of their relationship in the next book. It’ll be interesting to see how their relationship unfolds over the series!” CLICK HERE to read Willa’s full review.
HAYDEN
Homeland by Cory Doctorow
“Now in Homeland, Little Brother’s much awaited sequel, Marcus returns. California’s economy has collapsed in the years since the terrorist attack that sparked Marcus’s rise to fame as an activist. Unemployment has risen exponentially, and the people of San Francisco are one spark away from an inferno of anger. This climate will lead to one of the greatest and most inspirational political activism books I have ever read.” CLICK HERE to read Hayden’s full review.
EMILY
Asunder by Jodi Meadows
“I was intrigued by the concept of a city of perpetually re-incarnating souls in the first book, Incarnate, and couldn’t wait to see where the author would take the story in this sequel.
I loved how much stronger Ana became as a person. She had been raised by her mother to believe that she was nothing, and her initial reception in Heart was anything but positive. Even so, she overcame that, found a cause to support, and stood up for herself.” CLICK HERE to read Emily’s full review.
