We had a blast Saturday at our Wonderful Waldo Wrap-Up Party, celebrating our month-long Find Waldo Local scavenger hunt across Austin! Thanks so much to all of the families of intrepid Waldo seekers who joined us for the party. Virtually everyone had spotted Waldo in every single Austin spot he was hiding – good work! At the party, the BookPeople Teen Press Corp kept everyone busy hunting for Waldo’s shirt, glasses and hat in our Kid’s section. We enjoyed pizza from Austin’s Pizza, delightful cupcakes from Polkadots Cupcake Factory, and had a grand old time giving out all of our grand prizes!
And of course there was the highlight of the party – a visit from Waldo & Wenda themselves!
One of the biggest highlights for us, in addition to seeing so many kids jazzed about Waldo’s adventures and having a ton of Waldo fun ourselves, was the opportunity to work with so many of our fellow independent Austin businesses. Their generosity in not only participating but also donating prizes for our grand prize drawing reminded us yet again why Austin is such a wonderful (and weird) place to live. We encourage you to support these indies year round!
