A Taste of Texas & Tales of Tuscany

The events we co-sponsor with Edible Austin magazine are always fabulous affairs. Editor Marla Camp goes the extra mile to bring together as many local chefs, food and drink purveyors, and terrific authors (both local and national) as she can. This time, she and the Edible staff have really outdone themselves.

This Monday, April 2 at 7p, Edible Austin brings author, chef, cooking instructor and sommelier Sarah Fioroni to BookPeople. In addition to her already long list of occupations, Sarah is also a manager of her family’s organic farm, Fattoria Poggio Alloro, located in San Gimignano. In her new book, A Family Farm in Tuscany, Sarah shares family recipes and stories from life on the farm.

Sarah’s stories alone would make for a wonderful event, but there’s even more to look forward to. Paula and Glenn Foore from Austin’s Springdale Farm, and David Kuhlken, winemaker for Pedernales Cellars, will join Sarah for this conversation. They’ll also bring delicious food and wine for us to taste. Food tastings will be prepared by Elizabeth Winslow of Farmhouse Delivery. AND we’ll have beverages courtesy of Saint Arnold Brewing Company.

Visit all of their sites to get to know them and the good work they’re doing, then come down Monday night and enjoy this truly exceptional evening.
