We’ve been looking forward to welcoming Robert Leleux back to the store to read from his brand new memoir, The Living End. His first book, Memoirs of a Beautiful Boy, his warm and witty story of being raised by an eccentric mother in East Texas, was a big hit here. Now we’ve been given an even bigger reason to be excited about his upcoming event: the one and only Sarah Bird will be here to introduce Leleux! Sarah’s one of our all time favorite people. Her sense of humor always makes for a memorable evening. This is going to be a great night!
Bookseller Sophia reviewed The Living End for us last week. Kirkus Reviews also enjoyed the memoir, which chronicles Leleux’s grandmother’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s and their family’s subsequent reaction, saying, “(Leleux’s grandmother) emerges not only as a beloved figure, but as a larger-than-life character who was eager for the spotlight, funny, gracious, occasionally biting in her assessment of others and altogether inspired.”
