Thurs @ the HRC – The Future of Independent Bookselling: The View from Austin

This Thursday, November 17, 7p, the good folks at the Harry Ransom Center are hosting a panel discussion, The Future of Independent Bookselling: The View from Austin. Our own CEO Steve Bercu, BookWoman’s Susan Post, and Russell Etchen of Domy Books will talk about where they see indie bookselling going, in Austin and beyond.

This program is held in conjunction with the Center’s exhibition The Greenwich Village Bookshop Door: A Portal to Bohemia, 1920–1925, which runs through January 22. The exhibition uses an unusual artifact, Frank Shay’s bookshop
door signed by over 240 writers, artists, actors, and publishers, to recreate the intersecting communities that made the Village an epicenter of American modernism. (It’s really cool, you should check it out if you haven’t already.)

Seating is free, but limited. Check the HRC website for more info. You’ll find the conversation happening at 21st & Guad. If you’re a book lover, be there!
