And the Winner Is . . .

At the huge event that was the Wiener Wolf storytime, we presented the proud Mommy of Otis & Sam with their prize.  Yes, that’s right.  Otis & Sam were the undisputed winners of our dog costume contest.  With nearly 2500 votes, the duo swept the contest with 61% of the vote.  Congratulations to Otis & Sam and their mom Kate (seen here with the picture that she won.

But they weren’t the only winners at the event.  No, there was also a contest for kids in costume.  Look at how adorable these kids are dressed as dogs.  Their family won the other original drawing that author Jeff Crosby provided.

You could also say that author Jeff Crosby won at the event.  He certainly had a huge crowd — one of the larger crowds we’ve had at storytime.  This picture doesn’t even show everyone.

But, in the end, I would have to say the real winners were all the kids that came to the event.  They got to eat hotdogs from Franks, see dachshunds up for adoption, people dressed as characters from the book, and get their books signed.  A great day, indeed.
