Danny – Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
“A lot of people lauded this book as unique to the fantasy genre and I was still expecting cliche fantasy, but was taken aback by how entertaining and different from normal fantasy novels it is. Full of bickering, backstabbing, politics, and people trying to outpower each other, it’s gritty for a fantasy. Nicely written and fun.

Nolan – Look Homeward Angel by Thomas Wolfe
“This book is more challenging to read than I thought it would be, but it’s worth it. It’s about a guy who leaves home out of a hunger for life and who needs to break away in search of personal fulfillment. It’s great.”

“I’m reading this for the New and Noteworthy Book Club. It’s a great book of fact that reads like fiction. It’s a classic truth-is-stranger-than-fiction story.”

Scott – Kiss Her Goodbye by Mickey Spillane and Max Allan Collins
“This is a posthumous novel by Mickey Spilalne. It’s like if you put red meat in a book. Pure male pulp.”
Scott is also reading Death on Tour by Janice Hamrick, who will be here at BookPeople on May 29th to celebrate its release. Scott says, “This is a fun, funny, light mystery I can recommend to just about anyone.”
