Valentine’s Day is on Monday, and we’re in the mood for a good story. Any bookstore-related tales of love out there? Wandering amongst the stacks, you and a certain someone reach for the same book at the same time, bumping hands and then making eye contact… you stare deeply into each other’s soul. Now you’re married and have a bajillion kids…something like that.
Likewise, if you’ve got an anti-love story involving a book/bookstore, send it our way too. There are plenty of curmudgeons out there who would love to revel in your lit-related tale of woe. Maybe she or he borrowed your first edition copy of Catcher in the Rye and DOG-EARED THE PAGES. Kick ’em to the curb, I say.
We will announce the winner on Valentine’s Day and post the winning story (judged by our lovelorn staff, of course) on this very blog. The winner will receive an advance copy of Francisco Goldman’s Say Her Name (Goldman will be at BookPeople on May 7th) AND a copy of Paula McLain’s The Paris Wife, all about Hemingway’s first marriage in the capital of love.
Please send all stories to feedback@bookpeople.com.
Love Always,
BookPeople
