Austin YA authors, April Lurie and Varian Johnson on March 27th at 2PM

April: So, Varian, your book is about a preacher’s son who’s tempted to have sex with a girl he hopes to save.
Varian: Yep.  And you book is about a church-resistant teen who’s on the trail of a homophobic killer.
April: It looks like we’ll be talking about all the hot-button issues people tell you to avoid- religion, sex, and politics.
Varian: Cool.  Where should we begin?
April: Politics?
Varian: Nah.
April: Religion?
Varian: Nah.
April: Sex?
Varian: Yeah. Sex.  Let’s start there.
April Lurie and Varian Johnson (local YA fiction all-stars) are having a dual release party their new books, The Less-Dead and Saving Madie, this Saturday, March 27th at 2PM. At the event the authors will interview each other about their new work  and discuss social taboos not meant for the easily offended. There will be refreshments, of course.
